Golden Diner is Now Open For Dinner

Must Read

Golden Diner, a great little spot that opened with limited hours at 123 Madison St. earlier this year, just debuted dinner service.

Chef/owner Sam Yoo, an alumnus of some of the better restaurant kitchens in town, has been packing them in for weekend brunch since March. The diner, located in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge, features a small menu with Asian accents. Like so many new restaurants, Golden Diner had to make do in its first months without gas service. But now the kitchen is fully operational.

As Grub Street reported the other day, the dinner menu includes Korean BBQ-style short ribs, Thai Cobb salad, a tuna melt, and carnitas garganelli (a pasta dish partly inspired by Great NY Noodletown’s clams with black bean sauce). In our past visits for breakfast and lunch, we have enjoyed Golden Diner’s breakfast burrito an outstanding burger (made with a delicious mushroom kochujang sauce) and the chicken katsu club sandwich.

Golden Diner is now open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. during the early part of the week. Thursdays-Saturdays the restaurant will be open until 1 a.m.
