Katra Summer Screening Series Comes to the Wild Project

Our friends at Katra Film Series continue their Katra Summer Series with an evening of screenings at the Wild Project Theater (195 E. 3rd St.) this Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 6pm.

The night kicks off with the World Premiere of the feature film “Sum of Us,” directed by Anthony Meindl, starring Isidora Goreshter (Shameless), Kevin Csolak (Mean Girls on Broadway), Chad James Buchanan (INHUMANS), Brianne Howey (I’m Dying Up Here), and Emma Kenney (Shameless, Roseanne).

Here’s the full lineup:

BLOCK 1 — 6PM

NO MENU -­‐ directed by Teresa Lu | 8:24 minutes | World Premiere

A lonely newlywed man and a high-­‐end escort form an unlikely connection. Starring Paul Moon (Amazon’s “The Tick”) and Kira McCarthy

SUM OF US -­‐ directed by Anthony Meindl | 94 minutes | World Premiere

Anthony Meindl is an LA-­‐based Writer/Director/Teacher/Founder of AMAW studios worldwide, with studios in LA, London, NY, Santa Fe, Vancouver, Toronto, Sydney and Atlanta. He has also taught internationally in Sofia, Rome, Capetown, Melbourne, and Paris. He has guest lectured at the Gaiety School/The National Theatre School of Ireland, the prestigious Moscow Art Theater, the Actors Centre London, and is the guest acting teacher at David Lynch’s Masters of Filmmaking Program in Fairfield, Iowa. He is the author of three books: The best-­‐selling At Left Brain Turn Right, Book The Fucking Job and Alphabet Soup for Grown-­‐ups.

“Sum of Us” intertwines 10 connected stories across generations that deconstruct the myths surrounding the creative journey and what it truly means to be a storyteller. Part LA LA LAND (without the music) meets Lars von Trier’s DOGVILLE, SUM OF US is a self-­‐reflective experience that demonstrates that our beliefs about art, acting, ourselves and the cosmos are not always what we think they are.

BLOCK 2 – 8PM

ONE LAST SPIN -­‐ directed by Ali Matlock | 20 minutes | NYC Premiere

An engaged couple struggling with the financial pressures of the upcoming celebration, receive an unsolicited package. The package contains a peculiar item that has the potential to change their lives significantly.

ENTITY PROJECT – directed by Jandae Percem | 87 minutes | NYC Premiere

Mrs. and Mr. Anderson once lived in a home in upstate NY where they also practiced exorcisms. Now a young driven director decides to gather five of her girlfriends for a fun time in the house and to capture paranormal activities as part of a documentary.
