The city (Council Member Margaret Chin via DOT, Vision Zero, NYC Parks) is offering free bike helmets at a fitting and distribution event at Sara D. Roosevelt Park in the Pit (Broome Street between Chrystie and Forsyth Streets) on Sunday, July 21, 2019, from 12:00pm – 3:30pm. To receive a helmet, you must be there in person and receive instructions on how to wear it properly. Parents need to be on hand to sign a waiver for children under 18 years old.
