Archery and axe-throwing are coming to the Lower East Side.

That’s right, a Brooklyn-based business, Gotham Archery, is opening a new 2,500 square foot facility at 73 Allen St. (near Grand Street) later this month. Kenny Hsu, Jimmy Pang and Chris Stein have operated a similar concept in Gowanus since 2016. Now they’re taking on Manhattan.

The Lower East Side/Chinatown spot has 32 archery/axe lanes for classes, plus 10 rental lanes. The whole facility is also available for private events.

In a New York Magazine story four years ago, Hsu and Pang said a lot of people doubted their vision for an archery range in the city. The two former finance guys got hooked on the recreational sport and wanted to bring it to the masses. Looks like things are going pretty well for them so far.

You can learn more about classes here. The Allen Street location opens Tuesday, May 25.
