Must Read

Katra Screening 2018

Local screening series, Katra Film Series hosts its 6th Annual Grand Finale Screening Tuesday night at Alamo Drafthouse Theater in Downtown Brooklyn. Founder Geoffrey Guerrero began the  series in 2012 and has been hosting monthly events at Katra Lounge on the Bowery ever since. Each “season” offers a selection of quality short films that an audience votes on for one film to advance to the next round of competition. Regardless of who wins, each film is considered for the Year-End Grand Finale Event where the top films compete for over 10K in prizes.

The evening promises to feature recent works from Sundance, Tribeca, Palm Springs and Cannes that “deal with the controversial BLM movement to undocumented immigrants living in the shadow in Trump America to the continuing water crisis in Flint, Michigan and to the myriad issues women are facing in America every day.”

This year’s Grand Prize Winner will be awarded a new Canon camera and a one-on-one meeting with Producer Stephen Nemeth (Academy-Award Nominated The Sessions and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas).
