As we head into the final week of Christmas shopping, why not keep it local? You can, of course, shop at Lower East Side independent businesses any day of the week, but here’s something to mark on your calendar. On Wednesday, Dec. 20, the Lower East Side Partnership has organized a “Holiday Shopping Stroll.”
Throughout the day and evening, more than 30 LES businesses will be offering special deals, “buy one-get one free offers” and special events.
A few examples:
–At Yaf Sparkle, (pictured above), you’ll get 20% off on Wednesday evening. The jewelry stores, located at 249 Broome St. and 158 Orchard St., will also be offering free refreshments and gifts. If you make a donation to the ASB Foundation (benefiting the children of Lepers in Koutal Senegal), there’s free gift wrapping.
–Ben Freedman, 137 Orchard St., is offering a $25 discount on all suits, wool coats, cashmere coats and raincoats.
–The men’s clothing store, By Robert James on Orchard Street, is offering 20% off on Wednesday and for the remainder of December.
–Restaurants, bars and food purveyors are offering discounts throughout the day and evening. Participating businesses include: Donnybrook, Melt Bakery and Top Hops and many others.
