There have been a lot of local efforts to help the people of Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Here’s a big fundraiser coming up Sunday, Oct. 22 in the East River Park Bandshell.

It’s a concert produced by local resident/DJ George Nenadich and David Rodriguez. There will be performances from the Steven Oquendo Latin Jazz Orchestra, the New Swing Sextet, Tommy’s LowerEast Salsa, the Frankie Morales Band and the cast of I Like It Like That. The event is being coordinated by local District Leader Daisy Paez.

A $10 donation is suggested. All of the money raised will go the Voices of Puerto Rico Foundation. The event takes place from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
