2017 Schedule of Events - Final Flier

Friends of Corlears Hook Park, the non-profit group that works to maintain and revitalize Corlears Hook Park for the benefit of the general public and residents of the Lower East Side, recently released their schedule of events in the park and there is something for everyone to enjoy! From planting and pruning to a free dance performance, yoga classes and movies.

The season kicks off on May 20th with their annual spring sprucing up event, It’s My Park Day, from 10am to 1pm.

Family Fun Day will be on June 4th from 12:30-3:30 pm and promises to be a festive day of celebration and community gathering. This event will feature lots of hands on activities for the kids, arts & crafts, giveaways, face painting and much more. The highlight of this year’s event will be a 30-minute performance by the Taylor Teen Ensemble from the Paul Taylor School. Other community groups participating include: The Tenement Museum, The Museum of Chinese in America, Third Street Music School Settlement, University Settlement Society of New York, NYPD 7th Precinct, FDNY, and local Girl Scout Troops.

The month of June also brings the start of Friends of Corlears weekly, free, outdoor yoga classes. You can get your stretch on and show off your warrior pose every Wednesday evening at 6:30 in June and July.  A limited number of yoga mats will be available for use but if you have your own you are encouraged to bring it.

Lastly, Movies Under the Stars returns to Corlears Hook Park with two showings this summer. Singing in the Rain on July 27th and Cabaret on August 23rd.

You can find out more about all of these events and how you can get involved on their website www.friendsorcorlears.org.
