Events happening April 25-May 3:

The New Museum kicks off its spring exhibitions with the first New York museum survey devoted to artist Carol Rama: This show celebrates the works of the late Italian artist whose “independence and eccentricity” influenced her representations of the human body. The opening on Wednesday, April 26, will be followed by openings Wednesday, May 3, featuring the works of Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, and Kaari Upson. A six-hour marathon production of Eugene O’Neill’s Mourning Becomes Electra comes to the Abrons Arts Center: This endurance-fest from Target Margin Theater is staged in different spaces throughout Abrons, with  pu-pu platter snacks to help sustain you. The epic trilogy is “part Greek tragedy, part family play, part history play.” Open Wednesday, April 26. More info.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Oshensky talks about his book, Bellevue: Three Centuries of Medicine and Mayhem at America’s Most Storied Hospital: This conversation at the Tenement Museum takes place Wednesday, April 26, 6:30 p.m. More info.

St. Mary’s Church hosts a fashion show: Inside the newly renovated Grand Hall, Father Andrew O’Connor debuts items from the summer collection of Goods of Conscience. The fashion line he founded took root in Guatemala’s Mayan traditions and now seeks to preserve New York’s garment sector. Thursday, April 27, 6:30 p.m. More info.

The Three Pigettes & the Big Bad Lady Wolf returns to Teatro Sea: This country’s only Latino children’s theater brings back this musical production, performed simultaneously in English and Spanish. Saturday, April 29 at 3 p.m. More info.

The Bottom Dollars at Mercury Lounge: The popular, hell raising Brooklyn rock band plays the Lower East Side Friday, April 28, 11:30 p.m. More info.

Looking Ahead: May is full of big happenings on the Lower East Side. The Essex Street Market Block Party happens May 20. The Greek Jewish Festival takes place May 21. Lower East Side History Month comes back for a fourth year. Watch this space for more details.
