At the Metrograph: My Entire High School Sinking Into the Sea: The animated feature from Dash Shaw, the graphic novel author, stars Jason Schwartzman, Lena Dunham, Reggie Watts, Maya Rudolph, Susan Sarandon, Alex Karpovsky and John Cameron Mitchell. The film opens Friday. Stay tuned to The Lo-Down for ticket giveaways! On Saturday, John Cameron Mitchell and Shaw will participate in a talkback at the 7 p.m. showing. More info.

The Hester Street Fair Returns For Season #8: The team will be kicking off festivities in the yard next to Seward Park on Saturday with $3 Bronx Banner Ales and a lineup of favorite food, vintage and craft vendors from past years, including: Osaka Grub, Don Don NY (Japanese curry and katsu) and Macron Parlor. Local Musician Jeremiah Cymerman at The Stone: All this week, the Avant-garde clarinetist will be playing at John Zorn’s experimental music club on East 2nd Street. Each evening (through Monday, April 17), there will be a solo performance to get things started from one of the guest musicians. The music begins at 8:30 p.m. More info.

A Dance Premier at Abrons Arts Center: Choreographer Abby Zbikowski brings her latest work, abandoned playground,” to the Lower East Side. The piece, “foregrounds the necessity of rigor in the body and mind in times of futility.” There are shows Thursday-Saturday, April 13-15. More info.

East Side Stories at Metropolitan Playhouse: This annual “celebration of the life and lore of the East Village” is currently featuring Transformation, four short plays based on the lives of famous local figures. Among them: Fiorello LaGuardia, Vincent Astor, Janis Joplin and Mary Simkhovitch. Performances this week on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. More info.
