Tomorrow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Lower East Side community, along with loved ones and friends from across the city will remember Father Neil Connolly. Monsignor Connolly, who served as priest of St. Mary’s for nearly three decades, died April 1 at the age of 83.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Friends will be received today (Tuesday) from 2-8 p.m.
Connolly served at St. Mary’s for 28 years before his retirement in 2013. He then took on a role as senior pastor at St. Francis de Sales on East 96th Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Church, 440 Grand St.
