Police have arrested a suspect in the attempted rape of a woman inside a Lower East Side building earlier this month.
On March 3, cops say, 41-year-old Robert Adames followed a 25-year-old woman into 139 Norfolk St. He then shoved the victim through the door of her apartment and groped her. She screamed and he fled. A few days later, police identified Adames and released the photo you see above.
Adames faces attempted rape, trespassing and other charges. Police said their suspect is homeless and has at least 40 arrests on his record. Channel 4 reported that he’s on parole until 2020 for a perjury conviction.
