This coming spring, Eastwood, the neighborhood bar at 200 Clinton St., will be celebrating four years on the Lower East Side. Owners Sivan Harlap and Andrew States look to be marking the occasion with a modest expansion.

According to documents filed with Community Board 3, they’re applying for a full liquor permit in a neighboring space at 202 Clinton St. Eastwood occupies a prime corner location at Clinton and East Broadway. They’re planning to lease a small space in the same building (next door to a Subway sandwich franchise) for the new venture.

There would only be four tables and 14 seats with a proposed closing time of 2 a.m. The application will be considered by CB3 Monday, Feb. 6.

Harlap and States survived a bruising battle for a liquor permit in 2013, before settling on a beer and wine only license. Since that time, they have established Eastwood as a low-key, go-to spot for locals. They will have many supporters on their side in the quest for a new permit.
