Lower East Side Pickle Day is coming back to Orchard Street Sept. 25. Just yesterday, the organizers at the LES Partnership put out a fun promotional video to get you in the mood for the big event (see it at the end of this post). Here are some of the main details in the pun-filled press release:
Brace yourselves as Orchard Street between East Houston and Delancey Street is once again transformed into the region’s largest pickle party, overflowing with more picklers than ever before! Got an ache? Doctor Pickle has the cure! From Messy Brine to Grillo’s Pickles; Crooked Carrot to the LES’s own The Pickle Guys; Pickle Day will be so packed with picklers that your pucker will frankly not know what to do with itself! This peck of picklers will of course be accompanied by the best in LES restaurants and shops including Wassail, Ice & Vice, Sam’s Spring Roll and a number of new Essex Street Market additions which include Osaka Grub, Arancini Bros, and everyone’s favorite pickle cheese dog purveyors: Saxelby Cheesemongers! The nearly 30 restaurants to choose from will also offer an array of pickle free options for the picky non-pickle people in your group. Local hotspot Louie & Chan will be bringing the beats with their stage full of DJs. If eating your way through Orchard Street still isn’t enough, there will be a number of GIANT games such as Jenga, Checkers and pickle cornhole so you can play the day away.
