There’s a new option for coffee and a quick meal down in the Two Bridges area. The team behind Division Street favorites Forgtmenot and Kiki’s just opened Little Chair at 47 Monroe St. today.

In addition to freshly made coffee, cappuccino (La Colombe), etc., they’re offering croissants and bagels, sandwiches (turkey, prosciutto, Caprese), a variety of salads, spinach pie and homemade cheesecake. Mostly, though, the place feels like a hangout — more like your best friend’s eclectic living room than a straight-up coffee shop.

The cafe is right across the street from Coleman Skatepark and next door to the Southern European restaurant the Forgtmenot crew will be opening in the next few weeks. You might recall the dust-up at two community board meetings this past winter over a liquor license for the restaurant. Some locals protested the presence of more nightlife establishments in the area.

Little Chair, located just to the west of the Manhattan Bridge, will be open daily from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
