Must Read

Police say a 76-year-old woman was badly injured by a robber Monday afternoon on Rutgers Street, near Madison Street. The woman is hospitalized in a coma, according to the Daily News.

It happened about 3:30 p.m. A suspect ran past the woman following a failed robbery attempt in the same area, knocking her to the ground. The News reported:

Investigators later linked the incident to a 911 call at the exact same time where a woman claimed that a thief tried to swipe her belongings, then ran off empty handed, according to police sources. The victim said she chased the failed crooks for a short time, but lost him, police sources said.

The woman was rushed to New York Downtown Hospital. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap.
