Some of the things happening on the Lower East Side this weekend:

–New Zealand folk singer Marlon Williams plays Mercury Lounge tonight at 8:30 p.m. $12.

–Grant Lee Phillips takes the stage at Rockwood Music Hall tonight at 7 p.m.

–Tonight from 6-8 p.m., Causey Contemporary Gallery hosts an opening reception for “The Weight We Hold,” a new group show. 29 Orchard St.

–A new exhibition opened at the New Museum this week, Anri Sala: Answer Me.” The Albanian artist created an extensive multichannel audio and video installation across three floors. The exhibition is the foundation for Saturday’s free event, First Saturdays For Families. 10 a.m.-noon.

–Tomorrow it’s Family Education Day at The Lowline Lab. From noon-2 p.m., there will be STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts  math) education activities, including a scavenger hunt! Activities are drop in on a first come, first served basis. 140 Essex St.

–The plight of St. Mark’s Bookshop is well known. Beginning this weekend, the store at 136 East 3rd St. is having a big clearance sale — 50% off most books and magazines. Cash only.

–“The Club,” the latest film by Chilean director Pablo Larraín, opens today at the Sunshine Cinema. The award-winning movie brings viewers deep inside the home of four priests removed from ministry for a range of sins. Ticket info here.
