Valentine’s Day is only four days away. But there’s no reason to panic. Here’s are a few Lower East Side  options to consider:

–Saxelby’s Cheesemongers in the Essex Street Market is offering a cheese and chocolate pairing in collaboration with Rakka Chocolate in Brooklyn. You can purchase a one-time gift or sign your Valentine up for a 3 or 6 month “Cheese & Chocolate of the Month” subscription. Check out Saxelby’s website for details.

–Also at the Essex Street market and at the flagship Forsyth Street store, Roni Sue’s Chocolates has got you covered. Pictured above: her maple bacon carmels. Or how about “Roni’s Roses,” made with edible roses, handmade rose liqueur, rose petal jam and rose hip syrup. More details here.

–Orchard Street’s Melt Bakery is offering a special Valentine’s Day ice cream sandwiches for delivery in Manhattan. Have a look at options on Melt’s website.

–You can, of course, never go wrong at Economy Candy. How about a selection of conversation hearts ($2.99/pound), a heart box filled with Milk Lindt Truffles ($12.95) or an handful of Hershey kisses ($4.99/pound)? Take your pick.

–If you’re in the mood to rebel, Dirt Candy is hosting “Solo Diner’s Week” through Saturday. V-Day is chef/owner Amanda Cohen’s least favorite holiday. At the counter she’s offering a special $65 tasting menu. “Bring a book, bring your iPad, bring your childhood stuffed animals,” writes Cohen, “but don’t bring another human being. Trust me. They’re just going to tell you a long boring story about their job.” Call 212-228-7732 for reservations.
