Here’s a look at the Essex Crossing construction project from Kami Scott, who lives in the Seward Park Cooperative. She’s got a great view of Site 5, located on Grand Street between Suffolk and Clinton streets.
The 1.9 million square foot, mixed-use development will one day result in 1,000 apartments, plus a large amount of commercial space. On Site 5, crews are building a 15-story building with 211 apartments and a grocery store (operator still to-be-named). There’s also room for a possible public school and a 15,000 sq. ft. park.
The other day, developers said they’re just about done with the pile driving operation on the first four sites. They’re now focused on soil removal and other foundation work.
And here’s a reminder. The development team is holding a public meeting to discuss construction issues and job opportunities Jan. 28. More info about that here.
