Some of the things happening on the Lower East Side today:

–Community Board 3’s Parks Committee meets tonight for a visioning session tied to the city’s “Parks Without Borders” funding initiative. –Tonight at Howl! Happening, it’s the opening of a new exhibition commemorating the 40th anniversary of Punk Magazine. 6 East 1st St., 6-8 p.m. Here’s the Facebook invite.

–At Parkside Lounge, Ed Hamilton reads from his new book, “The Chintz Age.” It’s part of the Inspired Word Series. 8 p.m., 317 East Houston St.

–From 6-8 p.m. there’s an opening reception for, “Paper Cuts,” a group show at Cuevas Tilleard Projects, 142 Henry St.

–Scarlett Lace’s Flashback series continues at Botanic Lab with an 80s-inspired, star-studded Go-Go-A-Thon and Dance Party. 8:30 p.m, 85 Orchard St.
