On January 28, the developers of Essex Crossing are holding a public meeting to talk about construction issues and jobs at the large mixed-use site.

As you are no doubt aware, the development consortium is well underway with phase 1 of the project on the former Seward Park urban renewal site. Essex Crossing sites 1, 2, 5 and 6 are now buzzing with activity. There will eventually be 1,000 apartments and 600,000 sq. ft. of commercial space across the nine sites near the Williamsburg Bridge.

From 6:30-7:15, the developers will update the project timeline, discuss progress at each site and address “community impacts (i.e. noise).” Then from 7:15-8 p.m., there will be information provided about the availability of construction jobs for local residents and training programs. This meeting will not cover affordable housing (updated information on applying for Essex Crossing’s 500 affordable apartments will come later).

The meeting will happen in Grand Street Settlement’s community room, located at 80 Pitt St.
