Some of the things happening on the Lower East Side today:
–At 5 p.m. at the New Museum, Mexico City Artist Pia Camil will be trading 100 custom designed sweatshirts in exchange for personal items from the public in an event titled, “Pia Camil: A Pot for a Latch” Exchange Day. More info here.
–From 6-8 p.m. at the Manny Cantor Center, curator Keith Schweitzer debuts “Structures,” a show that explores the built environment of the Lower East Side.
–At 6 p.m. at Station Independent Projects, curators Olga Kopenkina and Yevgeniy Fiks present, “Future Queer Perfect,” an exhibition that “explores utopian dimension of queer imagination and memory.”
–From 6-10 p.m., Shoot the Lobster will host an opening party for its Holiday Bazaar. The sale features clothing, jewelry, DVDs, CDs, soaps, candles, furniture, artworks, holiday goodies and more by 50+ artists. 138 Eldridge St.
—Chamber pop ensemble San Fermin plays Bowery Ballroom at 9 p.m. $20.
—Trumpeter Sam Jones performs a recital at Spectrum, 121 Ludlow St., 7 p.m. $15.
