The Lower East Side is about to get a fancy new rooftop bar. Mr. Purple, the sprawling nightlife spot at Hotel Indigo, will open Monday, November 16.
As previously reported, the bar is a production of the Gerber Group, which runs hot spots like the Irvington on Park Avenue South and Whiskey Park. There are two terraces, one of which comes with its own swimming pool. Food is being supplied by Russ & Daughters and Katz’s Deli. Today the Times reports that Yonah Schimmel, the Pickle Guys, Beecher’s Handmade Cheese and Il Laboratorio del Gelato will be added to the mix.
The 293-room hotel at 180 Orchard St. is opening this month. Reservations are being accepted on November 23.
