Here are some of the things happening on the Lower East Side today:

–Closing arguments are scheduled today in the Sheldon Silver federal corruption trial. The jury is expected to begin deliberations after receiving instructions from Judge Valerie Caproni. If convicted, the longtime Lower East Side assemblyman would be forced to give up his seat.

–The city’s Economic Development Corp.today released a Request for Expressions of Interest (an RFEI) for the long-dormant Delancey Street trolley terminal.  The team behind the Lowline underground park proposal has been pushing the MTA to relinquish the site for several years. The Lo-Down first reported this story on Friday.

–Beginning tonight, the irrepressible Jackie Hoffman reprises “Once Upon a Mattress” at Abrons Arts Center. Tickets start at $49. 7:30 p.m. Opening night is next month; the show is in previews.

–Okkervil River continues to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their great album, Black Sheep Boy, tonight at Bowery Ballroom. $30, 9 p.m.

–From 4-8 p.m., Perfection Barbershop is offering FREE “thankful haircuts” for kids age 12 and younger. 56 Avenue C.
