Let’s get caught up on the Lower East Side restaurant/nightlife scene:

Chef Richard Kuo has parted ways with Pearl & Ash. Grub Street reports that Trae Basore, formerly of Colicchio & Sons, is now in charge of the kitchen at the Bowery restaurant. Pearl & Ash is closed until tomorrow for a dining room makeover.

In the Times Pete Wells reviews Wildair, the younger sibling of Orchard Street’s Contra, concluding that “the kid upstages the big brother,” and as luck would have it, “in a subtle and charming way.”

Several Lower East Side spots made it onto Adam Platt’s list of the best new breakfasts in New York City. They include: Pies & Thighs, El Rey and Dimes.

Speaking of Dimes, here’s a rundown of their new takeout shop. There are plans to open up a small grocery in an adjacent space and begin delivery service.

Year-old Rivington Street bar, 151, has decided to embrace the tiki craze.

Davidovich Bakery, which opened its first retail outlet in the Essex Street Market, has announced it will establish a second store in the Chelsea Market. According to a news release, the bagel shop will debut later this year.
