Have you checked out Kitty’s Canteen, the jazz bar and Jewish soul food spot at 9 Stanton St? It was opened last year by Richard Kimmel of The Box nightclub (Snoop Dogg is a partner). Now there’s also a takeout joint next door called Kitty’s A-Go-Go. It officially opens tomorrow.
Offerings include Black Cat Matzo Ball Soup, served with mustard greens and bisgels (bicuits shaped like bagels). You can also pick up matzo meal fried chicken, potato latkes, a pastrami reuben and a Roumanian steak. The recipes are inspired by Kimmel’s grandmother, who worked for a talent agency that represented jazz musicians.
