Staying in the city over the long holiday weekend? There’s lots to do on the Lower East Side. Here are a few suggestions.

The Chinatown Partnership and Chinatown BID are hosting their Mid-Autumn Moon Festival tomorrow. Festivities will take place from 4-10 p.m. on Forsyth Street between East Broadway and Division Street. There will be all types of performances and food. You can check out the Facebook invite here.

The Urban Drive-in returns to Luther Gulick Park Saturday with a showing of “The Muppets Take Manhattan!” The movie starts at 8 p.m. Limited seating will be available for seniors, but everyone else should bring their own blankets, chairs, etc. Gulick Park is on Delancey Street at Willett Street.

The New Museum’s First Saturday for Families is back tomorrow. There will be a free workshop in the lobby in conjunction with the ongoing solo show by Portuguese artist Leonor Antunes. Participants will “work with craft traditions to create collaborative sculptures that reflect the architecture of the surrounding neighborhood as seen through the windows of the Sky Room.” This event is recommended for children ages 4-12.

Monday at 1:30 p.m., there will a Labor Day celebration at Siempre Verde Community Garden on Stanton Street. They’ll be installing a new “yarn bomb” design on the fence. More info available here.
