Here’s another sign that fall is right around the corner. The Lower East Side BID just released their pun-packed press release for this year’s Lower east Side Pickle Day. Are you ready?
Relish in the thought! Pickle Day will be barreling back through the Lower East Side on Sunday, October 4th for a day guaranteed to turn brine dunk tank dreams into reality soaked scenarios. Real tank. Real talk: Orchard Street between Houston and Delancey Streets will be bustling with 15+ picklers, 30+ restaurateurs serving up pickle themed delicacies, pickle trivia, a home pickling contest, and a clairvoyant professing pickle-pertaining fortune futures. From 12-5pm you’ll enjoy streets full of pushcarts showcasing the best of the LES from restaurants such as Galli, Mission Cantina and Russ & Daughters alongside pickle pushers such as Rick’s Picks, Messy Brine, The Pickle Guys and Pickle Me Pete. In addition to all signs pointing towards brine, dance the day away thanks to DJs presented by The303 and Louie & Chan. Pickle Day also promises a full range of activities including bocce ball, face painting, a pin the pickle parlor game, pickle pooch parade (BYOP) and yes indeed the much anticipated, never duplicated, brine dunk tank.
