A number of restaurants impacted by the 2nd Avenue disaster have now reopened. But B&H Dairy, one of the most beloved institutions in the neighborhood, remains closed because there’s still no gas service in the building. Via EV Grieve, we learn that a crowdfunding campaign has been launched to help the 73-year-old lunch counter through a tough time.

It was set up with the help of the East Village Community Coalition, Fourth Arts Block and miLES. Here’s the link to the crowdfunding site if you would like to help out. A bit of good news. Eater heard from an employee that the gas line is being re-established, so hopefully the restaurant will be up-and-running in a few days.
