Here’s TLD Contributor Flora Theden’s weekly run-down of the best live music on the Lower East Side.

Friday – Craft Spells

After a dormant period following the release of the Gallery EP in 2012, Craft Spells’ Justin Vallesteros came back on the scene with the gorgeously ambitious Nausea in 2014. It’s the band’s second proper full length LP, and their first since 2010’s critically acclaimed Idle Labor. If you’re into lo-fi and indie pop, you’ll love their beautiful and melodious sound.

Mercury Lounge // March 13th // 7:30pm // $12

Saturday – Twerps

Cheeky, charming and touchingly direct, Melbourne foursome Twerps have risen from humble beginnings to become international lo-fi pop champions. Formed in late 2008 around charismatic guitarist/vocalist Marty Frawley (son of revered Australian songwriter Maurice Frawley) and bassist Rick Milovanovic, the band has supported the likes of Deerhunter, the Black Lips, Yo La Tengo and Thee Oh Sees.
