Police say a 51-year old woman was attacked Wednesday evening by a man who followed her into an apartment building on the Lower East Side. The NYPD has not released the specific building location. It happened on the fifth floor shortly before 8:30 p.m. The man came up behind the victim, choked and then began sexually attacking her. She fought him off and he fled. The woman was treated at Bellevue Hospital for bruises to her neck and hands. Cops say the suspect is in his mid-30s and that he’s around 5’7″, weighing about 190.
