After starting the day at 1 degree, we’ve made it all the way up to 23 this afternoon! So it seems like a good time to let you know that registration is now open for the Grand Street CSA. Can spring be far away?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Each year, the neighborhood group partners with a regional farm to bring fresh produce to the Lower east Side. Local residents help sustain the farm financially and, in exchange, they receive high quality New York state vegetables, fruit, eggs, cheese and other farm fresh items.
The deadline for signing up is April 1. Deliveries occur between June and November. Head over to the Grand Street CSA’s website for more info.
Also, there’s a “Meet The Farmer Night” with Zaid Kurdieh from Norwich Meadow Farms Sunday, March 8th at 3 p.m. in the Seward Park Community Room (268 East Broadway).
