Community Board 3 has published the agenda for its December liquor license hearing. A few items of note. First off, the team behind Division Street darling Dimes looks to be applying for a liquor permit 49 Canal St., currently the home of Cochinita Dos. The Cal-Mex restaurant opened last May and got a liquor license over CB3’s objections. Dimes has been operating from a tiny space at 143 Division St., where there’s usually a wait for a table.
The board will also consider ownership changes for Spitzer’s Corner and Los Feliz, two restaurants controlled by controversial nightlife operator Rob Shamlian. Music club Bowery Electric will make its pitch for a cabaret license. There’s a new application for an eating/drinking establishment inside the hotel being built at 119 Orchard St. (a few doors down from the Russ & Daughters Cafe and across the street from Max Fish). And there’s a request for a wine/beer permit at 23 Essex, where a place called Sam’s Spring Roll is going to be opening.
