We love Moo Shoes (78 Orchard Street) for providing a conscientious shopping experience for the animal lover in us all. That means no fur or animal cruelty involved in your footwear. They don’t even want fur in the store and proudly say so on their front door. Ya gotta love that NYC attitude, and sticking up for your beliefs is 100% New York punk, to the max.

Dear Rivington (37 Great Jones) reads cool pilgrim-vintage chic-Victorian-city-dweller. Country mouse, city mouse. It’s the kind of women’s wear someone who was hanging out in the days of Jack The Ripper might have been sporting. Their clothing and accessories, such as their current elegant hat collection by Shinjeo harken back to an older, simpler, prettier time, when women didn’t really do much. We fought hard to burst out of those boundaries, but still, there’s something you can’t help but love about the look of the time.

True Religion (132 Prince Street) Though they aren’t cheap ($178 and up), there’s no denying these snazzy jeans still make your backside shine, which some people want their backside to do. Enjoy their current “Spend More, Get More” sale going on right now. Spend $300, get $50 off. Spend $500, get $125 off. That’s almost one free pair of jeans. It’s at least a free leg, and you never know, wearing half a leg of denim could become the hottest look in the Lower East Side in the blink of an eye.
Speaking of Lower East Side, True Religion has a t-shirt that boasts our neighborhood, so there’s also that. Apparently, they know what’s up.

Martin Keehn (27 Essex Street) I’m only human, and that is why, as I watched beautiful male model after beautiful male model (they’re probably all really smart and accomplished too, hopefully just modeling their way through medical school!) strutting Martin Keehn menswear last week at a fashion show on Orchard Street , I couldn’t help but notice all this “global utilitarian elegance” they talk about on their website.
They also cite finding inspiration via the high school gym teacher and obscure references like French Connection 2. Sounds pretty dope to me. I’m going to start trying to dress my man up like a gym teacher a.s.a.p.

Rent The Runway (16 W. 18th Street)If you’re tired of wearing the same old dresses to weddings, parties, award ceremonies or hot night out with that special someone but you don’t want to have to buy a ding dang new dress every stinkin time you step out, I suggest one stop glamour shop, Rent The Runway.
I stopped by their Fashion Week event at their new location on 18th Street (yes, north of the L.E.S.) and had a grand old time trying on accessories and purses, nibbling on tiny cupcakes (that’s how all those models stay so thin!) and sipping white wine as I perused their high end collection of gowns in all sizes, lengths and shades by Badgley Mischka, Vera Wang, Yumi Kim and more.
They even let you know what is in style right now as well (trending, apparently, is the color emerald, which is coincidentally, Pantone’s color of the year).
