Here’s Lo-Down contributor Jessica Delfino’s weekly roundup of Lower East Side shops, sales and new collections to keep your eye on.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2014 is upon us and with it comes a week of a sort of “Halloween for the fashion set.” For those of you who aren’t sure what Fashion Week is (are there people out there who aren’t sure of what Fashion Week is?), it’s basically a big party for a week, featuring fashion events, sales, parties and more.

The website isn’t terribly easy to navigate, but if you keep your eyeballs open, you’re guaranteed to stumble onto fashion week events all over town, without even hardly trying. Our own neighborhood kickoff happens on Orchard Street on Sunday with a runway party at 7 p.m. featuring new designs from local boutiques and clothing designers, modeled by dancers from the The Paul Taylor Teen Ensemble. There will also be live music brought to you by Cake Shop and DJ’s.

Fashion Week runs from Thursday, September 4th to Thursday, September 11.

Mark your calendars and prepare to venture a little west for Noche Verde: A Celebration of Eco Fashion. Drake Natural and Build A Better Planet join forces to showcase eco friendly designs by Stamo of Ecoluxe, Kallilo, My Fabulous Puppy and more while you peruse, enjoy tapas, sangria and live jazz.

Tuesday, Sept. 23, 279 W. 14th Street at 7:00 PM.

German lingerie company Triumph prepares for it’s pop up shop sale at the corner of Delancey and Bowery and makes no bones about what will be sold according to the willowy, scantly clad lady perched upon the corner of the building. Undies, bras and lots of ‘em will be sold at discount prices, in addition to swimwear, shapewear, loungewear and more. Their underwear normally run from $9 to $32.

The pop up sale will run from today, September 5th through Sunday, September 7th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Jewel and Lotus Fair Trade Pop Up Shop and Global Gallery took up residence at the Mark Miller Gallery (92 Orchard Street) recently with it’s ethical, what I might refer to as “world” influenced fashions and accessories. On the day I happened by, bright colors flooded out into the street and the patterns and ideas contained within struck a, let’s say, “hippie chord” within me that I can relate to well. Their “global community” incorporates designers, artists and causes that seem genuine.

The pop up shop is now closed (it ran from August 15 – Sept 3) but Jewel and Lotus host regular events which you can find out about by visiting their website.

Although the good people at The Lo-Down asked me to cover “shopping” with a focus on fashion and accessories in this column, I want to mention Tokyo Bike’s summer shop (1 Prince Street). Do bikes count as an accessory? Well —  I think yes. My bike is very much a part of my fashion style. It brings out the color in my eyes and is as much a part of my look as the go-to bright gold Michael Kors bag I often select to chuck my necessities into as I head out to a show or hop on a plane.

Tokyo Bikes are cool, sophisticated looking, come in a palette of bright colors and start at $695. They are visiting from London by way of Japan through October 2014 and are open Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays noon to 8 p.m., closed
Wednesdays and open Saturdays & Sundays 11 to 7 p.m.
