There aren’t a lot of citywide sports competitions that hold their championships in the 10002 ZIP code, but tomorrow is your chance to watch some of the best skateboarders in the borough at Coleman Skatepark on Pike Street.
The World Skateboarding Grand Prix, an organization out of California, kicks off its Rider Cup NYC tomorrow at noon. Teams from within Manhattan will compete for the borough title, with subsequent events throughout the summer at each of the other boroughs. For the citywide finals on Aug. 16, the competition returns to the LES to dole out a $23,000 purse.
