  • Spur Tree Lounge, which shuttered at 76 Orchard St. in early March, announced its reopening in a new, but as-yet-undisclosed location this week. Via Facebook on June 15: “In 9 days we’re back . . . The Spur Tree re-opening countdown has begun! We missed you all! Details about our re-opening in the LES coming soon! More music, food, culture on the way!”
  • Critic Gael Greene and the Village Voice both weigh in with early looks at Cherche Midi, the new French bistro at Houston and Bowery, which Greene says should draw both “milennial nomads” and “old fogies.”
  • Pig & Khao proprietor Leah Cohen tells Eater that she and partner Ben Byruch plan to open a restaurant focused on bar food somewhere west of Essex Street, between Delancey and Houston streets.
