If you’ve been looking for a chance to get a good look at some of the Lower East Side’s top art galleries, but aren’t sure where to begin, this weekend offers an ideal opportunity.  NADA’s New York Art Fair returns to Pier 36 Friday-Sunday.  The young gallerists operating in this neighborhood  are heavily represented in the leadership of the New Art Dealers Alliance, which is coming back to the Basketball City complex (near Montgomery Street) for a second year.

There are more than 80 exhibitors from all over the world, including prominent LES galleries such as Nicelle Beauchene, Eleven Rivington, The Hole, Invisible Exports, Sargent’s Daughters and Joe Sheftel. On Friday, NADA is open from 2-7 p.m. Saturday’s hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday you can visit from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admittance is free, plus you can sneak out back and have a look at the spectacular view from the pier! If you want to hitch a ride, there’s a free shuttle from the New Museum starting at noon each day.

NADA is one of several satellite fairs scheduled around Frieze on Randalls Island.  There are other LES-related events around Frieze. We’ll have more about those tomorrow.

For more NADA info, consult their website.
