The Hester Street Fair returns in two weeks for its fifth season on the Lower East Side.  This year, the weekly food, vintage and artisan event will be happening on Saturdays and Sundays.  Opening weekend is April 26/27, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

To kick things off, old favorites like Luke’s Lobster, Brooklyn Taco, Melt Bakery, La Newyorkina, Macaron Parlour and Khao Man Gai NY (last year’s Vendy Award Winner) will be on hand. New food vendors include meat purveyor Hudson and Charles (offering items such as a porchetta sandwich and Texas style chili with Mexican chocolate).   SSAM-BBQ will be joining, as well, offering lettuce wraps and other Korean specialties. On Sunday, mixologist Warren Hode from Rosette, the new east Broadway restaurant, will be making drinks created with homemade tonics.

On the vintage front, newcomers Le Petit Mort will have a revolving collection from the 80’s and 90’s. Delicate Raymond, featuring the best bargains on jewelry in the neighborhood, will be represented.  There will also be a rolling fleet of mobile vintage — including the Nomad Truck, La Poubelle Vintage (housed in a converted 1968 Shasta travel trailer) and Coast to Coast Mobile Vintage.

This year, the fair is providing a glimpse of Chinatown. Andrew Tyson is curating a selection of Chinatown photographers. You’ll be able to meet a new artist every week at his affordable art booth.

The fair takes place at Essex and Hester streets, right next to Seward Park.  Click here for more info.
