The intersection of Clinton Street at East Houston is a notorious trouble spot on the Lower East Side for traffic accidents. Two more mishaps were reported during the weekend.
These photos were sent along to us by Cole Schaffer, co-owner of Culturefix, the the Clinton Street bar just a few doors south of East Houston. In the first image, you can see that a car careened into the median during an early Sunday evening accident. In the second photo, you see a very similar accident that had occurred Saturday night.
This past August, a 73-year-old pedestrian, Meipui Chow Leon, was struck by the driver of a van and killed at this same intersection. There were no reports of injuries in the most recent accidents.
