As first reported by EV Grieve, a new 10-story building is planned at East Houston and Suffolk streets.
Buildings Department records indicate a high rise with 14 residential units and a 2500 square foot space for a community facility was approved this past summer. In 2010, the owners of the parcel, known as 265 East Houston, were issued violations by the city after construction work forced the evacuation of a neighboring daycare center. According to finance department records, “265 East Houston LLC,” with a Long Island City mailing address, acquired the lot in 2008 for $500,000.
