Bass beats boomed from the New Museum lobby last night as a DJ spun and the space was transformed into a sexy, spooky Halloween soirée.
Karl Lagerfeld danced with Giorgio Moroder, Banksy ran around in hoodie and handkerchief hiding his face, ghouls with gouged out eyes drank gin and smoked cigarettes on the sky room balcony.
Jagged cracks were projected onto nearby water towers, so that it seemed the Lower East Side surroundings were in a scary state of decay. Yet everyone cheerfully indulged as drag queens and booty dancers raged on long after partygoers dressed like living art had drunk the open bar dry.
Hang that in your hallowed halls! (And thanks to Erik Erikson for the excellent photos.)
