Our Magazine is Growing!

Must Read

A few minutes ago, we posted the PDF from our October print magazine, which is being distributed throughout the neighborhood today.

Inside the magazine: this month’s cover story.

A few days after our editorial deadline passed, the city at long last announced it had chosen developers for the big Seward Park development on Delancey Street.  Since coverage of the issue has been a major focus of The Lo-Down since 2009, we scrambled to get a new cover story together on “SPURA,” and moved the original cover story focusing on the one year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy to the back of the magazine.

We had room for both stories because, coincidentally, this is the month we decided to add pages.  Yes — our magazine is growing, thanks to strong reader and advertiser interest.  The Lo-Down in print has gone from 24 to 32 pages, meaning there’s room for more stories and regular features, including a monthly guest editorial (submissions welcome).

So we wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude to everyone who reads the magazine, as well as all of the sponsors who make it possible.  You don’t hear a lot of print media success stories these days, even regarding little ventures like ours.

We’re still a start-up; anyone who’s run a small business knows how challenging it can be. But it’s been quite a ride so far, and we’re looking forward to more growth in the months and years to come.
