There’s been a boom in coffee shops the last few years on the LES. Places like Caffe Vita, 12 Corners, Pushcart, the Roasting Plant, Cafe Grumpy, Lost Weekend, Atlas Cafe and Irving Farm (formerly 88 Orchard) all have their devotees. Others prefer their corner bodega or longtime Lower East Side mainstays like Castillo de Jagua. What’s your spot? Let us know about that and your other top picks across 20 categories. Cold brewed hot coffee?? Zulu’s recently opened on the corner of Allen and Delancey. They serve cold brewed coffee in the traditional iced coffee format as well as espresso and drip coffee. If you’re really lucky you might get a chance to meet the owner (Zulu) a Pyrenees Mountain dog and Border Collie mix.
