A suspect who fatally stabbed a man in Queens this week also knifed a victim on the Lower East Side during an incident last week.  The LES attack was not fatal.

Police charged 22-year old Steven Torres of the Bronx with 2nd degree murder as a hate crime in connection with the stabbing of 69-year old Ever Orozco in Elmhurst Monday afternoon.  Torres had apparently become enraged when Orozco blew him a kiss.  The Lower East Side crime happened last Thursday inside 9 Stanton Street, near Bowery. The men, day laborers, were working inside the building.

The 47-year old victim, Miguel Gonzalez, was treated at Bellevue Hospital for stab wounds to the arm.  He also reportedly blew Torres a kiss.  Neither victim is believed to be gay.
