“After four years at the helm of the LES BID, I decided that it was time for new challenges in my professional career. My main objective during my tenure as Executive Director was to increase daytime foot traffic and draw attention to this incredibly diverse and wonderful neighborhood, and we have made great strides on those fronts,”  Zuckerman said in a statement. Among the accomplishments he mentioned: creation of the Orchard Street festival, DayLife, successfully advocating for office space in the new Seward Park development project and the beautification of the Delancey Street corridor, in partnership with city agencies.

Tim Laughlin, the organization’s deputy executive director, has been appointed to the top post.  Zuckerman said, “the Lower East Side BID has taken the lead in advancing the Lower East Side as one of New York City’s most notable neighborhoods for shopping, dining, culture, and civic progress. I enjoyed working with everyone on the staff, the board and in the community, and I know that with Tim Laughlin as the new Executive Director, the LES BID will be in good hands and continue to build on our current track record of success.”
