Today’s Lower East Side food notes: a new chef at Yunnan Kitchen, Rizzo’s Pizza debuts on Monday and more…
- A few days ago Yunnan Kitchen chef Travis Post announced he was leaving the restaurant to pursue other projects. Via twitter and Linked-in, we now learn that his successor will be Kevin Chun. A veteran of Macao Trading Company and Soho House (among other establishments), he was on the job on Clinton Street last night.
- Rizzo’s Pizza, the Astoria import, has its grand opening Monday at 17 Clinton St., beginning at 4 p.m.
- The Serious Eats gang digs breakfast on the Lower East Side at: Shopsins, Russ & Daughters and Classic Coffee Shop.
- Sunday Supper at Fatta Cuckoo this week stars Papa Joe’s Comfort Jamaican Cuisine and reggae; $45 for dinner and cocktails. Click here to make reservations.
