Meet Nino and Tina, two German tourists who will always remember the Lower East Side fondly. Last month, they found themselves in Yaf Sparkle, the jewelry shop at 158 Orchard St. According to proprietor Yaf Boyle-Flaeger, Tina found a golden bracelet she liked, and Nino, after paying for it, fell to his knees right in the store and proposed marriage. She began to cry, Boyle-Fleger says, and began shouting, “Yes, yes, yes!” They managed to get a bottle of champagne for a spur-of-the-moment toast. Thanks to Natalie Raben at the LES BID, who heard about the story awhile back and connected us with Yaf. See more photos after the jump.
It will never last! JK, congratulations kids.
Best Wishes for Nino and Tina.
