The Lower East Side institution and cultural icon Max Fish will be moving. If true, the news is going to be a big blow to Ludlow Street, which has already lost two longtime nighttime spots, Pink Pony and Motor City, this year. It has been obvious for several years that the bar, which embodied the LES’s bohemian spirit, was not long for the neighborhood. Owner Ulli Rimkus negotiated at least two lease extensions with her landlord, but it was clear The Fish’s days on the rapidly gentrifying block were numbered. More to come…
