A little Lower East Side slice of life this morning. TLD reader Nancy Linn sent us this photo looking down on the backside of 17 Essex Street, where the Tuff City tattoo shop is located. While some graffiti artists went to work on the exterior walls, Nancy says, Chinese women from a commercial space upstairs folded up paper offerings that were burned to remember the dead.
